The Council of Mayors (SEQ) joined forces with the Queensland Department of State Development, Port of Brisbane and Brisbane, Ipswich and Logan councils to promote SEQ as an ideal destination for manufacturing business and investment.

More than 10,000 delegates and 230 exhibitors participated in the National Manufacturing Week Expo held in Melbourne earlier this month where the strengths of SEQ’s manufacturing industry were put on show.

Manufacturing contributes around $19 billion to the Queensland economy, accounts for more than $15 billion in international exports and directly employs 167,500 Queenslanders.

Due to the strong interest at this year’s event, it is anticipated SEQ will have an even bigger presence at next year’s expo in Sydney.

Advanced manufacturing is one of many industries driving investment in SEQ. For more information about the region’s business, investment and lifestyle opportunities, visit SEQInvest.com.au.
