In an Australian first, the Council of Mayors (SEQ) has launched an online investment portal focused on promoting South East Queensland (SEQ) and showcasing its project-ready opportunities to domestic and international investors.
The digital portal, SEQInvest.com.au, has taken the standard hard copy prospectus to a new level by showcasing the region’s investment opportunities in one place and allowing investors to explore prospects based on their specific needs.
Council of Mayors (SEQ) Chair Cr Graham Quirk was confident the portal would be a game changer for investment attraction, and the collaboration across SEQ’s councils was a real competitive advantage for the region.
“Investment attraction is a competitive space, and the councils of SEQ know we can achieve more as a region than we can individually. By working as a region to simplify the process, SEQ has become an even more attractive proposition to investors,” said Cr Quirk.
“Competing with cities like Sydney, Melbourne and other countries across the Asia Pacific can be tough for individual councils, but together we present a strong and diverse range of opportunities for investors. Our region has so much to offer, and SEQInvest is an innovative way to showcase this to the world.
“Investment in SEQ strengthens our economy and creates more jobs for our communities. Therefore, the SEQ Mayors will continue to explore new ways to raise the profile of our region and secure valuable investment opportunities,” said Cr Quirk.
Projects such as the proposed international cruise ship terminal at Luggage Point and the Moreton Bay university precinct are examples of previous proposals supported by the Council of Mayors’ (SEQ) investment attraction efforts. Interest in these projects has been secured and planning is now underway.
SEQInvest.com.au is an online gateway developed to raise the profile of the region, promote project-ready investment opportunities and offer support and streamlined services to significant investors with an interest in SEQ.
